the story goes...

born to be a legacy, but to parents whose life plan never included caring for a child, alexander gabriel reyes never had much of a chance for a happy childhood.

despite the riches and the lavish, the life he knew was never a kind one. with a mother who was a slave to her addictions, and a father whose anger always got the better of him, alex often found himself trapped between the two storms.

mere days after his thirteenth birthday, his mother lost the battle to her sickness. things would never be the same for them, and the already strained relationship he had with his father would only suffer more for it.

the black sheep of the family, they said. his mother’s son.

in the years after his mother’s death, alex drifted farther away from the world of galas and champagne that he’d known all his life, embracing the streets of new york and his “low life” friends instead. the company he kept was a calculated choice, one he knew would cause the biggest rift between him and the rest of his family. with their influence, he started spiraling, drinking, using, partying for days on end and forgetting it all. rinse, repeat.

he never stopped long enough to consider the consequnces of his actions, or the possibility he could end up exactly like his mom, until he almost did.

though the possibility of dying was there, in the back of his mind every time he chased another high, he got obsessive with the chase, and he finally understood why she had always loved him less than the drugs.

until it unravels.

the consequences caught up to him in the end.

he was nineteen and high when his life changed again. they would later deem it an accident, after a few phone calls and a dozen bribes, alex shipped off to another city to finish school. but it wasn’t. a part of him would always remember, though the rest of the night had since become a blur of hallucinations and neon colors, that he had pushed his friend on purpose. and he watched as the boy fell screaming, and stood unmoving as he bled out on the sidewalk.

in short.

though there was a lot of hardships through his life, with his mom’s death, his own drug abuse and a rocky relationship with his dad, alex always wanted more out of life. but when a friend’s “accidental” death shook his life up once more, he was forced to transfer to roswell university to finish his studies.

  • one. a dirty little secret, this one is just for them. for some reason they shouldn’t have slept together but they did it anyway. now they’re desperate to keep it between them and to never let it happen again, but the temptation is always there.

  • two. they like each other, but only if the other one is unavailable, always running in circles around wanting to be together in some way and not wanting to hurt each other.

  • three. one of the first loves. an ex-boyfriend who he dated when he was around fifteen or sixteen. this would have been the person he first experimented with, both sexually and with drugs. he also would have started dating them to piss off his dad, which they may or may not know about.

  • four. a sort of fake relationship. though they’re not actually involved, they’re both from wealthy, respectable families who have high expectations from them. in order to get some peace of mind, and keep their families out of their actual love lives, they pretend to date, taking each other to family events and parties. there might be feelings involved, depending on chemistry.
